- Track Your Meals
We recommend all of our clients to track intake using an app such as My Fitness Pal. That way, you can easily record calories and where you’re up to throughout the day.
- Choose Nutrient Dense Foods
Simple swaps can save you hundreds of calories without sacrificing flavour or enjoyment. For example, instead of buying a pizza try putting one together at home with pita bread, tomato paste and your favourite toppings!
- Fuel up with a good breakfast
The quickest breakfasts are often the best! A simple bowl of oats or a protein shake with banana and almond milk can keep you full all morning while keeping your calorie intake down
- Keep healthy snacks on hand
For those times when you need to rush out the door at meal times, have some healthy snacks such as fruit, crackers, cheese or yoghurt drinks on hand. That way you don’t need to skip the meal and feel over hungry later. A healthy nutritious snack can keep you going until you have time to sit down for a proper meal.
- Stay hydrated
Always keep a water bottle in your bag and the car you can sip on throughout the day as you’re running errands. Even if your food intake is a little off track, staying hydrated will help to keep you healthy and on track
- Eat Mindfully
Mindful eating doesn’t mean eating whatever you want! Rather, it’s about being present in the moment when you’re eating. Allowing yourself to really taste the food and enjoy it. By eating more mindfully you’re able to feel more satisfied from smaller portions of the foods you love.
